This is a full-day tour through the heart of Transylvania, following a scenic route across the Carpathian Arch from southeast to northwest, passing through some of the most beautiful and historically rich regions of Romania. After leaving Brașov, the journey continues through the picturesque landscapes near the Băgății Forest, where you will soon see the impressive silhouette of Rupea Citadel. Recently restored and open to visitors, this medieval fortress offers a fascinating insight into Romania’s rural defensive architecture. From Rupea, the tour proceeds along a scenic route towards Sighișoara, briefly turning off the main road at Bunesti Village to reach the charming rural settlement of Viscri. This beautifully preserved Saxon village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its authentic traditional character, where modern influences remain minimal. Viscri is also famous for its connection to King Charles III, who owns a residence here. You may admire the village and surrounding countryside from the fortified church tower, part of the UNESCO heritage network. After Viscri, the journey continues to Sighișoara, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval citadel cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you will explore the Upper Town, including the iconic Clock Tower, the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, the Covered Stairway, and the Hill Church, all reflecting the charm of medieval Transylvania. On the return journey, stop at the beautifully preserved Saschiz Fortified Church, another UNESCO-listed monument, known for its impressive architecture and excellent state of conservation.
